Gettin' the Ya-Yas Out

Arthur now says stuff like YAYAYAYAYAUUUUMYAYA and he says it LOUD.
He will eat his oatmeal now. For his first Thanksgiving his mommy tried to give him a sweet potato but he spit it out.

He also can turn the pages of his Sweet Dreams softie book -- pretty intense plot with kitties, bunnies and puppies. However we agree that there is no real character arc.

What is this s#@/!!!?

Rice cereal is definetely not ice cream! Oh well. It's bound to get better.
Arlo weighed 15lbs 10z about two weeks ago, so, based on how heavy he feels when I carry him, he weighs about 25 lbs now.
Lots of new sounds and he's interested in everything.

Smashing Pumpkins

The pumpkin patch came to Arlo this year!
Arthur's Nana in Chattanooga gave him his first pumpkin shirt, his Grams in Roswell supplied the pumpkins and his mommy took his picture.
He was glad when his photo shoot was over and he finally got to go inside.

Left or right? What’s right?

He reaches for objects now. Sometimes he uses his right hand and sometimes his left. I can’t remember when one hand eventually wins. Arlo just woke up from a nap and is playing with his stuffed liver.

Life Is Good

Arlo coos and goos and SLEEPS thru the night until 6 am! He has discovered his toes. (And his mom thinks he says a few words too!)
Thanks to his Grams, he also likes to listen to Father Tom Vaughn's rendition of the
Battle Hymn of the Republic!

Cute as a bug

It turns out that at 91/2 weeks, Arlo doesn't weigh 25 lbs like I thought. 13 lbs and 23 inches. Those scales at the pediatrician's office aren't reliable. Arlo took his shots like a champ and screamed his head off.
We saw lots of people – adults and children – wearing masks. When I asked about it, the girl at the front desk said they are asking people with cold symptoms to wear masks.

Welcome to the Jungle

I can't believe Arlo is 8 weeks old!

He doesn't have much of an appetite. Just kidding.

This is a typical morning for us.
Arlo and I have breakfast at our usual time -- 6 a.m.
After his bottle, Arlo goes in his Rainforest swing next to the kitchen table and I release the animals so I can mainline my coffee. Arlo really likes watching the monkey and mynah bird circling his head.

Go Arlo!
